At Rocycle we’re all about Mind Body Music, but, just as important is the fact that we’re a family. So, to make sure each class is not just a party but a reunion, we’d like to introduce our instructors so you know a little bit more about them than their signature moves on the bike. Read on to hear about our resident Blonde Tiger, Vita’s cheese cravings and favourite instructors.

Hi Vita! Thanks so much for chatting with us. Can you start by telling us a bit about yourself?

I’m Vita Boers, 26 years old and I grew up in Amsterdam. I have been dancing my whole life, and I recently moved back from New York City where I was pursuing my dance career.

When you came back to your hometown, what brought you to Rocycle?

I started taking indoor cycling classes in New York City and I fell in love with the whole concept. When I moved back to Amsterdam, I automatically started to take classes at Rocycle. I loved it so much that I started to think, ‘why don’t I become an instructor?’

We are so happy you did! So when you’re not teaching here at Rocycle, what else do you get up to?

I have a YouTube channel together with my sister, which is called ‘Blonde Tigers.’ We started it when we lived together in NYC when we realized we had quite a unique situation: two sisters from Amsterdam living it up in the big apple. First we started with a blog focusing on fashion and hotspots before deciding to film our lives to show even more of what we were doing. That eventually became our YouTube channel.

Since you two are so close, we imagine she must be part of your Rocycle routine. How does she fit in?

She is a very loyal Ro’rider and goes three or four times a week, not only to my class, of course, but it’s always fun to have her cheering in the front row.

It always helps to have a good cheerleader. Are there any other instructors whom you like to cheer on in their classes?

I love Martijn’s and Rowen’s classes. They’re both very different but so much fun! Plus they’re really good friends of mine.

That sort of support is what makes Rocycle the family that we are, so that’s lovely to hear. As you are an expert on hotspots, can you tell us your go-to for a healthy bite in Amsterdam?

Joe and the Juice. Their Tunacado sandwich is everything.

And how about your fridge and pantry staples for healthy eating?

Lots of cheese haha. I don’t have a fridge full of healthy stuff actually. I make sure I eat vegetables every night, but the rest of the day I eat what I want.

We aren’t going to lie, that makes us pretty jealous. So, finally, what does Rocycle mean to you?

Rocycle became a big part of my life since I teach a lot. For me it’s an outlet and a little break from all the other stuff I do. The classes can be physically and mentally pretty intense, but I always feel energized and happy after. I love the people that come to my classes every week. It’s always so nice to see familiar faces and watch people become better and better in class.
